Alaska Cruise - June 2019

Saturday, June 1, 2019 - Vancouver

My husband and I and 2 kids age 6 and 5 took a super early flight to Vancouver. We would spend 2 nights pre-cruise here.  We did bring small, backless booster seats with us as we would be renting cars later in the trip.  I used miles for all 4 of us for our one way plane tickets there.  I also used Expedia miles for our hotel room in Vancouver, Hotel Blu.

Our pilot on American let the kids sit in the cockpit and the flight attendants gave them wings!

We stopped in Dallas to change planes.  Before we could deboard the plane, the police came on and took a lady off.  This particular lady had caused a scene at my 6 year old when he was sleeping because she thought he was blocking the aisle and continued to make faces and motions at me after I woke him and made sure the aisle was completely clear. I’m not sure what happened, but another passenger said they had problems with her also. Neither of us had complained to anyone, so who knows what happened. Karma!

When we reached Vancouver airport, the lines were pretty long for customs. We eventually made it through and grabbed a big taxi for our hotel.  We checked in around 2pm and our room was ready!  The room was clean and modern. We also found the location convenient.

We walked to the Plaza of Nations stop to catch the Aquabus to Granville Island. It was a gorgeous, sunny day.
