Day 2
I had booked tickets to the Rockettes Christmas Spectacular during their Black Friday sale. We had aisle seats for the 10am show. We arrived about an hour early per instructions. They had lots of snacks for sale including popcorn. The show was really good. Unfortunately I missed the fairies part as I needed to use the restroom and apparently it was a highlight of the show. I guess we will have to come again!
We then shopped a little. My son loved the MLB store. We then walked to Gallagher’s where we had reservations at 12:30. My picky eater kids finally eat steak! My daughter loves French Onion Soup, so wanted to pick a Steakhouse that had that. Surprisingly, several of the steakhouses don’t have French Onion Soup. Our lunch was delicious. Husband thought it was one of the best steaks he’s ever had.
We then headed to Bryant Park Winter Village to check it out. I had read there was a fire there that morning and we were curious about it. It was extremely crowded here. We bought some hot cocoa and churros from a stand and then were able to find a seat near the ice skating rink. The fountain had been completely frozen a day ago. It was still partially frozen.
We then taxied back to the hotel to rest a bit as we had the Nutcracker tonight! I booked dinner at Rosa Mexicano as it’s across the street from the Lincoln Center. The taxi to dinner took forever. Traffic was terrible. We were a little late for our 6pm reservation. Nobody was that hungry. The guacamole was very good and fresh. The quesadillas were ok.
We walked across the street to see the Nutcracker. It was a great show! The ballerinas were excellent and the music was beautiful. I’m pretty sure I enjoyed it more than my family. Indiana Woodward was the Sugar Plum Fairy and Andrew Veyette was the cavalier. It’s apparently his final Nutcracker.
We easily got a taxi back to the hotel. And we had him stop so my daughter could get a corn dog on the way.
