Icon of the Seas - Western Caribbean - May 25, 2024

We had a discount on a future cruise that needed to be booked within a year, so we booked Icon again to kick off our summer vacation. We booked the exact room which we loved located mid ship on deck 8. We didn’t do as many activities on the ship as last time since we had just been on it. This made for a relaxing cruise.

On our previous cruise, we couldn’t stay up to watch the balloon drop and the kids really wanted to do that this trip.

We had signed up for early dining, but were assigned to late once on the ship. I had booked our shows based on early dining, so had to go get that straightened out. The gave us early dining night one and then assigned us after that to early dining on Deck 3. We had a great table right next to the window. We ate here every night except one night we booked the Hibachi restaurant.

Great view from our table

We enjoyed sea days at our favorite spot in the shade near El Loco Fresh. My husband got up early to get these seats. But there were several shaded chairs available most of the day. We ate El Loco Fresh for lunch on sea days.

We enjoyed all the shows. One was new - The Effectors. It was the prequel to the show we saw on the Wonder of the Seas. It was good and had the drones which was our favorite part in the other show.

Husband and son won a contest in putt putt. And husband did the zip line thing off the ship this time. He got lucky that someone cancelled and was able to book this.

There was a tragedy on our 1st sea day. A man jumped overboard. They announced they were searching for him and stopped the ship. They found him, but he passed in the ship infirmary.
