NCL Pride of America - Hawaii Trip June 2022 - Honolulu

We arrived 2 nights pre cruise and stayed at Sheraton Waikiki. We enjoyed this hotel and the big pool and slide. It’s a good location next door to the iconic Royal Hawaiian. The toilet at the Sheraton was a “smart toilet” with bidet. My daughter insisted on getting one after the cruise.

We went to the luau next door at the Royal Hawaiian. I liked that it was convenient and also with beautiful views of the ocean and Diamond Head. They also had a kids meal of chicken fingers for my picky kids. They don’t offer this luau every night, so we had to book it for our 1st night.

We got ice cream and went to bed. It was nice that the hotel was next door.

The next day we rented a jeep at the Avis at our hotel. We then walked next door to the Royal Hawaiian where we booked an Outrigger Canoe surfing excursion. This was so fun!

We then headed to Kualoa Ranch where we had a UTV tour booked. We had lunch here prior to our tour. We saw spots where they filmed Jurassic Park and the TV show Lost. One of the guides ended up flipping her ATV - eek! So be careful driving! We did get very dusty!

Just a photo op - we were in a 4 seater

We stopped at Byodo Temple on the way back. It was beautiful.

We then headed to Duke’s for dinner. We had a decent view, but it was not as great as the view from the luau. We had to get the famous Hula Pie!

The next day we woke up very early to go shark cage diving! You go out on a boat and get in a cage and the sharks swim around you. They assured us they were not aggressive sharks and we would leave if an aggressive shark showed up. It was a cool experience, but my daughter hated it and was screaming. She is ironically our daredevil, but did not enjoy it. We did take Dramamine and did not get sick, but several passengers did.

We then headed to Pearl Harbor. We unfortunately missed the movie, but did get there in time for our reserved boat ride. We also toured the submarine and got Junior Ranger badges.

We then headed back to the hotel and turned in our rental car and took a cab to our ship! Our balcony room was pretty small, but we really used this cruise as a floating hotel room, using it to shower and sleep.
